If your considering US Recovery Bureau you may want to search the archives of this forum as well as ripoffreport.com before deciding, there is a reputable BEA Academy in NH run by some of the members here, NABEA runs a class in Philadelphia and VA and NIBE also offers classes in many places. |

If you need answers to questions about AMHERST ACADEMY OF BAIL ENFORCEMENT you can call me anytime---my associate law and I are the instructors and use LAWs book as the textbook.--our associate instructors are all current beas that have worked with us.--we also limit are class size to six students so we can give max attention to each student--we do not sell badges or id and do not claim to get people work in our industry as a matter of fact we tell most that it is likely you will never make a arrest and the field is limited and hard to break into---both LAW and myself have given many seminars to local colleges police science students.-- If you are the agent Sal from the usrb do not bother to call your brand of school is not wanted or tolerated here in nh |

Sal In January you posted the following about attending USRB Posted: Thu Jan 13, 2005 12:45 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Well i have class on Jan 21,22,23 anything else i should look out for what about the rest of the states they say" Did you attend training at USRB ? Here's the cold hard truth about this profession, most people who attend BEA training never get any work or even make a single arrest, some so called schools will tell you what you want to hear in order to get your money, if I told people what they wanted to hear I could make a fortune in the training business but I'd rather drive a 5 year old car and shop at Wal-Mart than become a soulless con man. The only way someone with no Law Enforcement experience is going to get work as a BEA is if someone already in the business takes them on as an apprentice, don't expect to make much money, my assistants don't get paid much but they do get the valuable experience that comes with actually going out on cases, I take on assistants because most of the time I can't afford to split my commission evenly between other experienced BEA's, I tell my people upfront don't quit your day job because your not going to make a living as a BEA anytime soon. Once and a while there are those gravy cases where you nab a skip on a 100K bond that pays 10K but those are few and far between and you can't count on it, most of us full time BEA's do other work such as PI, Repo and process serving in order to supplement our income. So if some school promises you that you can take a class and start working for big $ then their full of S**t. |

You are right on, Chuck. There are very few full-time BEAs and out of those, most still have other ways to supplement their income. There are peak periods and slow periods. Multi-tasking is the only way to live. |
