I just signed up for this site Skipmax. I don't know if it will be a good resource or not, but it states that its records aren't old and they are updated daily, so we'll see. Update: Another thing I just received, when I signed up, they sent me an email notifying me that I have 10 free searches. Update: I just used my free searches. The credit headers work great, and I don't have to say why I am using them like skipsmasher, etc. Also, another thing about this site that I like (even though it probably won't continue for long) is that there is no application process to sign up. Make a user name and pw, give your address, and your account is created ready to use. |

Make a user name and pw, give your address, and your account is created ready to use. I too have signed up, and used my first free search. The information seems to be up-to-date, based on imputting information that I already had; meaning, most of what is offered, I can find for free. I have also spoke with the owner of this site, and based on our short conversation, has a good tone, and speaks polite and professional, and I wish him the very best. Also, did a little re-search,and found that the same individual has owned a previous website; won't discuss any more than that, people have the right to voice their concerns. The application process is a little scary, because "Joe Blow" could set up an account, and start searching. All-in-All, I believe the data site has potential if managed properly. |

I don't think any of the information on any of the database sites is a secret. If it was confidential we could not legally obtain it. Joe Blow on the street has access to everything we do. Database sites take public domain information and provide it in one place. The key difference between a licensed P.I. and Joe Blow on the street is we can charge for the info. I guess I just don't buy into the super secret professional trade secrets since you can Google or you tube how to do all of it. A professional who can deliver information not found on a database site has knowledge and skills worth protecting. In all my training for BEA, P.I., or even becoming a Certified SWAT Sniper instructor. I have yet to come across something which was not freely available public domain information. So I guess my point is Joe Blow off the street has access to all this information anyway. Database sites don't keep him out for ethical reasons. They are only doing it to prevent lawsuits. Joe Blow can access credit headers and run license plates too in my state. He just has to file a privacy act request. Not trying to say anyone is not professional or deserving of their pay. I just don't think anything we do or have access to is that big of a secret. I could be wrong since I might not be in on the secret. I do think true professionals are better at this than Joe Blow on the street and therefore should be paid for their skills accordingly. We all pay for things we could learn to do ourselves because it's better, faster, easier. All that being said this database site does not let me log in with the password they provided. |
