Post subject: T.V Shows and Bail Enforcement  Posted: Sat 03 Sep 2005 20:39 |

I have been looking into the Bail Enforcement field, My biggest concern is this. Is it really good for the industry having people like Dog Chapman and that guy in N.Y. running around like idiots. I have seen these shows and wonder why people like that get there own shows. I would like to know everyone thoughts, is it good for the business or not.

Check some of the topics and you will see that nobody agrees with "Dogs" tactics at all. You will also see that most agree he is hurting the industry and that he is a joke. I recommend you dont follow his ways. And welcome to the forum You can learn alot here.

I'm not crazy about "Dog" but I enjoyed Tom Evangelista's show which wasn't just about BEA's but a family in the Bail Bond business, the Evangelistas are human just like anyone else the only difference is they let the cameras in their home so we could see how they live and do business, Tom has helped me with cases and from a professional stand point I can assure you that when it comes to finding skips Tom is no idiot.

At the least Tom Evangelista doesn't go out and revoke bails just to have fodder for the cameras.

As said before Tom is the real deal--Tom deals in areas where angels fear to tread-many perts of ny that tom is active in makes Iraqi look like a pleasure resort(i worked those areas for 16 years)-- I just finished watching at national geographic special called the bounty hunters it was filmed in 2000 and pretty accurate but not up to date--i have signed up with mediarod for his show-he promises a balenced and accurate view of bea

No sh*t, guys like dog run around in camoflauge, in plain sight, and have 5 cameras folowing them, and go after the heads all gung ho, its an in-efective and dangerous precident their setting, because now we have ameuture hunters going out and getting themselves shot cause they dont think things through, they dont do any research on the heads, and they take pointers from these chump tv hunters, its just wrong.

One of the primary reasons we decided to go back into production with two shows about recovery work is the feedback and requests we received from our friends in the bail and recovery industry. While the viewing public may be entertained by the antics of Dog and his mini-skirted, buxom wife Beth, and the work of bail agent Tom Evangelista and his family (Family Bonds), both shows are more about the agent and their dysfunctional families then they are about the industry. Although I agree with Hadley that at least Evangelista and his team practice with more professional ethics then Dog, neither show delivers a clear message about the work of bail or recovery agents, and do nothing to enhance the image of the industry. We hope to change that with the contributions of the professionals who are associated with this forum.
