I am posting this to show how networking via this forum works in a positive way.

I received a call on Tuesday from a BEA in Washington state who
was working a skip from Colorado. This BEA had prior experience
with this skip, so he was working it for a Colorado Bondsman.

The skip was here in my AO, and he contacted Kathy and asked if
she knew anyone from Pa. Kathy referred him to me, and we made
the arrangements. The BEA, a good guy named Derek, flew out
here to Philadelphia. Derek ran into a snag getting a rental car,
(was originally going to transport the skip back to CO) so I picked
him up from the airport.

We scouted the area ahead of time, and I had my partner meet us
at the location to where we, through an informant, had set up the
skip.

After a few hours of sitting at the location, sure enough our skip
arrived, and he was taken into custody.

The day got a little long after that due to not being able to directly
transport the skip and some minor glitches in the system here in
Pa., but eventually the skip was incarcerated and will be extradited
back to Colorado.

All in all, through some positive networking via members of this
forum, everybody went home safe and happy, except the skip of
course, and thats the ending we all strive for on here.

I would like to say a special thank you to Kathy Blackshear for the
refferal.

Networking is a valuable tool for all of us, if explored and used
properly. Let's keep up the good work we do on here.

You had better thank my SISTA (your other mom), too. It was a mutual referral as we both know the two of you.

So far I'm 100% with my referrals to this particular bondsman. It was pretty ironic that when he needed somebody in WA and I referred him to Derek that it was the same sex offender that I had helped Derek track down to Colorado before. LE was in the process of investigating him to file charges then, and Derek's input helped with that.

I'm just glad that everything finally worked out and hopefully this idiot will sit in prison for a very long time.

Special thanks to LuVonda as well.

Sorry Mom, didn't know you had a hand in this too.

LuVonda and I met Derek on Rex's forum a few years ago, and he furthered the contact with numerous phone calls. I have spent hours on the phone with him researching cases, and have gotten to know him very well. He also took the time on a brief move to GA last year to personally pass through my town to meet face to face with me, and did the same with LuVonda as he was passing near her. Getting to know each other online is wonderful, but meeting face to face is awesome.

So, does networking with those that we know work? You had better believe that it does. This was a situation that went from good to bad, and then back to good. You just have to know the right people to make things work out. Despite the stress, threats, etc., the SIQ is in custody, the referrals did their job, and the bondsman is off the bonds and everyone went home safe. That is what it is all about!

Uhm . . . I gave him your # as MY SISTA was in Court . . . My SISTA did the rest as I was tied up with stuff here . . . The SISTAs have yet to make a bad referral and should we do so . . . . well, we all know the answer to that one ;-) (it won't happen a 2nd time)
And I too, say . . . JOB WELL DONE! John Marshall and The Diplomat (Derek)
I sure do love My Family SISTA!

I never had any doubt, that you all didn't work together when in the time of need,as well as you should.

It's just tough on a new comer trying to break into this business, when no one nows who they are or their true intentions......Understandable,and no harm done. I've learned that there are other avenues to prove that one can be valuble and worthy, and with-out breaking the laws

I'm glad to here you all had a safe recovery; sweet!

He-he, the story gets even better today. Derek didn't answer a call, because he didn't recognize the number. They left a message, and it was a LEO in PA wanting somebody to call him about the case. I suggested that Derek turn it over to Marshall since he was the local agent. Marshall returned the call, and apparently the SIQ's "ride" to PA called LE after he was arrested and she had the scoop on him, and had them come get the car that he was trying to have fixed to drive on to FL. Shock, shock (NOT) it was stolen out of OH, and he also had two false ID's in the car. No surprises there!

PA is charging him with grand theft auto for sure, and will probably follow through with other charges like criminal impersonation (lying to 4 LE agencies about who he was), ID theft (evidence was in the car), assault on a peace officer (fought having his prints taken), and failure to register as a sex offender (convicted of rape in OR, and 2 additional felony convictions and another charge for FTR in CO). The LEO was very grateful that BEA's had apprehended this guy and given him to them thus giving them the opportunity to investigate further and file their own charges. Marshall now has a very good contact and supporter in LE in his area.

This idiot is only in his 20's, but has apparently spent most of his life scamming others. With his history, he is definitely a third-striker, and I don't see him seeing daylight anytime in the near or far future. Derek also found out that WA has an ongoing investingation on him, and that he was arrested in West Palm Beach, FL. By the time he gets done with all of the charges in the various states, he will be lucky to get out of prison until he is very old. And with his attitude, he may not make it anyway.

Again, kudos to Derek who has located and apprehended this guy twice now, and to Marshall who provided the necessary back-up and support to make it all happen. Everyone went well beyond and above to make it all work out.
