On Wednesday night, Wayne Patterson, our driver for H & M Motorsports Nascar Late Model Team was killed in a single car accident on the way home from his shop. Only very close friends know of my Motorsports history, as we never wanted to flaunt that sort of stuff, but I am speechless. We have campaigned Nascar late Models for over 25 years, with some locally famous drivers, all over the east coast. Wayne had over 100 short track wins and 7 track championships driving for several teams, his last win in our car in NC. Wayne was a very determined, no non-sense kind of guy with a cool sense of humor. But if you missed the set up, you didn't want to be on the other end of the radio! My prayers and thoughts are out to his family. Another era passes out of our grasp and I am now retired from racing, officially. I can see that number 14 racing in heaven with the rest of our gone but not forgotten friends. Scott MacLean and Jimmy Humphries H & M Motorsports |

Thanks Dave and Luvonda. Luvonda, our phone conversations mean much more to me than you could ever know. This driver, Wayne Patterson, had over 100 short track wins and seven track championships. He was a fighter and one hell of a friend and a fantastic shoe. He ran in the Bush series for 10 years as well. Allot of the local racing community was out to pay their respects to him and it was very much appreciated by his family. I know that my faith teaches me that funerals are a celebration, but it sometimes just doesn't seem fair. Scott |

No it doesn't seem fair. Somebody's team needed a driver and Wayne was the one Blessed to the call . . . He will amaze you at times (Wayne) and be right there when you need him. Just listen with your heart and . . . your nose I prayed for you last nite . . . I hope that you slept well. Love you Lil Bro |

Thanks for the well wishes ya'll. I am a tuff guy until this crap happens too close to home. My wife and I have been caused to reflect allot lately with both of us losing mutual friends either younger, the same age or a little older than us. Both of us work 7 days per week, grew up very poor and have no interest in going back to that, despite our current President. The issue is that we have developed incredible work ethics and neither of us really know how to relax, but we are dedicated to learning how. We are also getting our personal affairs in order so we don't put the pressure on our family to decide what happens to the accumulated stuff. My kids have us dead and divided up already but we want a say so in it! Scott |

I already have my music planned and I am to be "rolled out" 15 minutes after it all starts as I am always late so why change it Now I have not yet decided whether I want to do a video presentation . . . However I do want it to be a celebration of my Life not my Death (Hmm ~ I guess that would depend on who knew I was gone ) |
