God love us all ~ I am guilty as sin of using the term "man I aint seen you in a coons age" . . . kinda funny, in that around here sometimes coons don't get very old
Scott I have heard that term used before but never really thought much as to what it really meant . . . . ahhhhhhh . . . but NOW I know . . . duh

One of my co workers was from many states in the South. Most recently Alabama she got me hooked on the term Up round here. She used it so damn much I find myself asking
' Have you seen this person up round here"
Good sounding term though kind of grows on you

You gotta love country directions...back in the day, before mapquest, gps systems, cell phones....when all there was were maps...

"well ya foller this here road fer a mile or so (a country mile mind you), turn rit where the ol church used to stand, snake around the curves follerin the old river bed (which is now dried up and overgrown), make a left where the big oak that was struck by lightnin 2 yr ago used to stand..."

Yes, I really did used to get those kind of directions.....

By the same token, I've shared many a meal with ttoal strangers who by the time I left were friends.

No place like the Southland.....Good food, Good people, Good times.

That's funny Kathy, it was in the 30's here last night and I was thinking my Dad's version of that.

It's colder than a well-digger's a** in the Klondike.

The opposite of which is it's hotter than a popcorn fart. (my husband's personal favorite)

And I give directions to my house as it's the second cyclone fence past the church. 'Course out here they don't know cyclone fence, they call it chain link.....

Yeah, gotta love the "blocks" that change or block our words, but the spammers constantly get past. Enough said there!!

LB, I never heard the "Klondike" part, but you got my point. PM or email me your info. I'm always looking for "like-minded" pros to work with.
