I may be the new guy, but you know you can count on a letter from me!
As a professional LEO, I am sure my wife will write one also.

It was suggested to me (and I agree) that not every letter need to mention Dog Chapman, but simply the misconstrued facts about the work of BEA's.

There have been many news stories as of recent about the work of BEA's, and this is an angle that would get Dateline's attention.

If all they hear from us is complaints about Dog they may think we are merely "jealous" of his popularity and we may wind up being portrayed as bitter and envious individuals.

I have not been online in 2 days..thus the reason for my appearance of "no action"..I too will be mailing in my letter later this weekend. My computer is sick, so it has a dr's appointment later this morning. ...lol

If any of the esteemed leders would consider me as a delegate to this congregation then I would be honoured to serve that capacity with as much professionalism, dignity, and class as I possess.

As always, I am available 24/7.

Take care and God Bless,

Ruffin.

I am both sensitive to political climate and very capable of "shad(ing) topics into gray tones" so that a specific point in favor of conveying realistic BEA dogma can be conveyed in such a way that it would be suitable for mass consumption.

What do I mean by this?

People picked for such a project must be able to present as rational professionals who can articulate valid points while being able to support stated positions with the rule of law, common sense, history, and experience pertaining to the subject matter at hand while, at the same time, winning favor with an audience.

I think that this forum bears membership of such people, and I would be inclined to assist in the best interest of the trade, but I would be disinclined to participate in an event that is specifically designed to publicly humiliate or otherwise raise media attention for Mr. Chapman.

L.A.W. specifically stated that such a venture would NOT be meant to purposefully speak ill of Mr. Chapman, and, if everyone involved could stick to that format, I don't see any reason why such a thing could not go forward.

Is the Mail running today?

Rex

I am on board with Hadley count me in. I have been carefully preparing my letter to send to Dateline and it will be mailed no later than monday. We need to be careful not to bash and smash Dog he is not the issue we need to get across other than, if asked, we do not conduct business like him. We do not need to address that in any letters as it has been suggested just address what our profession really is all about and, the mis-representation that has been perceived by the public because of the way we are portrayed by the media.

We may also want to suggest that we want to see positive change in our industry and, how we do not appreciate all the wannabees that pop up on the news that have hurt what we do.

I surely hope the media picks up on our offer for the truth. I heard an ad for Mr. Chapman last night where he is quoted as saying (excuse the grammar as these are his words, not mine), "One thing bondsman don't do is bail out dancers and hookers..."

I disagree. As long as a 'dancer' or 'hooker' meets the bail criteria they have bail posted as anyone else would. This is yet another example of Mr. Chapman misleading the public for the sake of what I call camera fodder.
