There is no loyalty in this business

Amen ! However I will have to disagree on the latter part . . . For SOME there is "loyalty" . . . For others . . . They honor the "Bounty Hunter" code

Scott,
In my case,I was told to contact the bondsman. When there was something that the bondsman couldnt answer he would refer me to his recovery agent!! This bondsman had never done any type of recovery and didnt want any part in that side of the business so I believe his FRA actually held an office in in the bonding office.

While I agree that there should always be a contract,I do admit to having some loyalty as LuVonda said. But up untill you have the trust between the two parties it should be common practice to have a contract.

I personally have never undercut any other FRA my costs are pretty standard and I make it known right up front.Although I do tend to brag about my results at times!! 8) I know not of such a code LuVonda but I do have morals and I am sure I could get alot more work if I did not have them.I grew up learning respect and how people should be treated and apply it directly to how I do business.
If that is part of the"code" Than I am all in.

Example of "loyalty"....the previously stated case I was working for the bondsman in Ga.,I later found out that the defendant had also just failed to appear the week before here in Tn..By chance it was a bondsman that I have done business with alot and I notified him that I had her in custody. He didnt hire me and I was expecting no money from him, just wanted to make sure he knew so he could put a hold on the defendant at the jail. This is just a common thing with myself and a few other companies I work for.Turns out this bondsman had a much larger bond out and stated to me that "we will always treat you right here, you know that" I told him I wasnt expecting payment and he stated"I know"
no contract between the 2nd bondsman but out of loyalty and respect for one another got the job accomplished on both ends.

Have I a question… I have been asked to help another Bail Enforcement Agent on a few cases. I will just be assisting on the cases; the other BEA holds the authorization for arrest. I believe I should have some type of contract but I am not sure what to include. Can anyone provide suggestions?

Thank you

When I was with the old FRTF under Michael Barber and Bob donnellan contracts were in place; later when I was with a California co. I farmed out dozens of cases to trusted frn members, some of whom are no longer here. Since returning back here, I have farmed out cases to several on here, all w\o contracts and all were closed out professionally. LuVonda, Kathy, Steve F.,Dave M., Dave K. Just to name a few.By the same token, I've also closed a few cases for people on here. Now I haven't closed every single case that's been issued to me, but it wasn't from a lack of effort. In life you win some, you lose some, and some just get rained out.

Kathy...

In Virginia if you assist another BEA on a re-arrest who has a signed Recovery Authorization Form (PSS_RAF) then your name and the names of any other agents must appear on the Warrant Return/Recovery Form (PSS_BRF).

This should ensure that the other agent does the right thing as it relates to your share of the payment. If he/she fails to do so you can always make a complaint to DCJS.

Kathy,
I would contact Scott M. for assistance with contracts and other related industry forms. His contracts are some of the most iron clad and protection oriented I have ever seen.
