Is it legal to operate in NY under an agency that's PI licensed in Arizona? My question should probably be more specific :?

Unless you register your company as a foreign corporation in the states you wish to open offices in.

Or unless what you are asking is ~ can I be a PI Licensed Individual or work for same and do a Bail / Fugitive recovery in another state. Then the answer is yes.

LuVonda, Only if the target state accepts the home states credentials....remember, alot of states are industry protected...you are required to use in state agents only such as Tn and Ga.

Mr. Legend,

Once again you are providing incorrect information which can cause a person to be arrested ! His question is can he work under a pi license from 1 state in another state ? The answer is basically no, with a few exceptions.

You reference chain dept. stores....each 1 of those companies are registered and licensed in the states they operate in for a number of purposes, but primarily for generating revenues. They are totally different from working as a PI.

If you continue to disseminate such dangerous, unprofessional, and illegal advice, I will ask this board to vote you off of here. There are enough bogus instructors out here leading potential FRA's astray as it is without you coming on here and spewing such idiotcy.

Once again I implore you to engage your spell check on your computer, or at least consult a dictionary !

Okay now to be more specific there's a company that I assume has expanded. They are a licensed PI Investigator company in AZ but they are also located in the Bronx, NY. They offer the training that you need to be certified, but require that you pass their test with a 70% or higher to begin case work with them. They also state that they have vehicles. Is that legal?
