Love to read about this networking thing! Congrats to all for another safe and legal recovery, and give a biscuit or a high paw to Chopper too!

No worries...:)
Yes sir, my case went as smoothly as 1 can, with the exception of "Bambi" rearranging the left part of my front bumper.
I can't tell you how many deer we dodged that night. They are in full rut right now and very active.

Ok... here's the skinny on this one...

This young fella was bonded last July and has missed.... 4... that's FOUR court dates... the judge let me slide for 6 months and then on 1/9/12 he says to me......... "Well, Mr. Marx... I understand NYC is beautiful this time of year"... and then he fortified the bond (in VA you have 150 days to pay... but I don't mess around... you forfeit on me and I make the move for the skip... immediately.

The indemnitor lives in Va and happens to be this guys mother in law.... the bond was a small one and I could have probably paid the damn thing off but I don't work like that... I gave the mother in law the chance to bring him back and I would have only charged her $300... a deal, but she BS'd a while and I could see that wasn't gonna happen so Monday nite I spoke to Yak in Jersey... he said he was only about 15 miles from this guys house... since my budget was relatively small, Yak said he would work with me... (I try to put all the cards on the table up front, so there are no surprises when the check is written)

Tuesday am, Yak sits on the house and within 2 hours, he has the guy in his van heading south... calls me and I head north... Yak drives close to 100 mph and I drive around 50 mph so it wasn't looking like a half way deal... 8) 8)

Yak found a diner south of Baltimore, calls me cause he can't figure out his GPS (high tech stuff hasn't made its way to Jersey yet)... gives me the address, I plug it into my phone and it walks me right to his van... everything went pretty good.

"I deleted a section of this post because after reading it a few times it seemed a little over the top... Yak called me laughing and said I should put it back it... I haven't decided just yet... I don't want to make light of this scenario but Yak says it was fine and he fell out of his chair laughing.... well, I may put it back in after a bit.... "

It only pertained to what actually happened in the diner... when Yak decided to bring Chopper in to have his dinner with us (Yak feeds Chopper steaks, hamburger with ketchup and onions... although onions are not good for dogs)... and the waitress refused to allow him to bring a "dog" into the restuarant... well, Yak sometimes gets a bit upset, especially when you say something about his "dog".... and he threw a chair through one of the windows and then after the 6 Colonial Park police left... uh, also the Rescue Squad left ... then... oh and the Swat team that showed up with the armored car... anyway... they all left and the manager finally allowed us to leave after we paid our bill and Yak had to pay for all the bullet holes in the ceiling... oh... and luckily he had Choppers rabies record in the van cause the local health department was gonna quarantine Chopper after she tore the pants off two of the cops and bit the manager... but it was ok cause the manager only had get 4 or 5 stitches... all in all it turned out fairly well... I sure did have to do some fancy talking to get us out of there... but it was quite exciting there for a bit.....................

.......... I don't think we are gonna have to pay for the damage the police helicopter did when it landed in the parking lot and tore the awning off the front of the restaurant... that was pilot error.............

So after dinner and exchanging pleasantries me, Tamo (my backup) and our skip, head for Mecklenburg jail in Boydton, Va.... about 235 miles...

We get there about 11pm, after one pee stop and a couple of strawberry milkshakes.

... anyway, delivered the skip, got the bail-piece signed and came home...
Image

Yak, Chopper, Me and the skip... notice I got the bear paw around this kid... he ain't goin' anywhere... and yes, Chopper is giving me a nice kiss... she loves me..............

PS: the guy called me on the phone... his dad too... and actually ask me to bond him back out.... can you believe the nerve of this guy????????????? duh..... yeah, I'll bond ya... the magistrate put the same $1000 bond back on him... I told him it would cost him $3000.... payment on the recovery costs on the first bond and full collateral on the second plus my fee.... he said he thought he would call another bondsman.................. DUH...............
