Continuing my re-buttle in reference to networking,
there are a few things I need to mention so new persons to this
industry understand the big picture. When I first started out as
know nothing newbie in this biz, you had to find someone to learn
from. Here in Pa. there were and aren’t current laws governing
fugitive recovery, so you had to find and learn the hard way. Now,
as a lot of seasoned and established people on here may remember,
there was a huge boom to enter this biz in the mid 90’s thanks to
the oncoming of the information super highway known as the
Internet. As such, there were all kinds of folks vying for business.
This business was turning cutthroat back then

Networking was an occasional perk, if you had the luxury of finding
a trusted and established person in the business. A lot of the time,
you would contact someone, they said sure we will help, send the
information, and the next thing you know they grab your skip and
get the $$$. You did that only once or twice before you learned a
valuable lesson.

As such, a lot of folks tried to attach themselves to an association
or organization such as NABEA, ABEA, and etc. to have “certified”
networking partners throughout the country or in a given state.
This however became quite costly as these organizations charged
hundreds of dollars for membership fees. This wasn’t a feasible
solution to the problem for a lot of quality people in this industry.
So, where do you turn to??

Well, we go back to what started the problem, the Internet. You
start searching for a better means of communicating with your
peers. And what did I find? The Fugitive Recovery Forum, this
forum. On here way back when was a huge opportunity to put your
best foot forward and communicate with other members in this
industry and learn thru open lines of communication. Sure, there
were rough spots back then, but for the most part, it was a good
way to openly learn and navigate your way to making solid contacts
in this business.

As of today, I am proud to say that I am a “verified” member of this
forum. I consider a lot of people on here as friends, even though
we have not yet met in person. We treat each other like part of
our family, with respect and undo effort to assist each other in any
way we can. And I have the comfort in knowing that help is just a
phone call away.

So, for all the new persons that come on here and expect
immediate respect and cooperation, you will get just that, as long
as you give it first. We here on this forum have been here through
the tough times and the good times. So when someone unknown to
us as a whole starts to put us in a bad light before they actually
get to know the quality and integrity of the people on here that
contribute so much to put our business in a positive light on a
regular basis, then shame on you, for you are the one who is losing out on a golden opportunity.

Thanks for listening.
